I honestly don't understand the point in Maya Indie. What Maya has going for it., is in terms of usability is has always been and still is leagues ahead of the competition but it's so frustrating that after 25 years it's glacial pace of updates and feature expansion especially in regards to version that Individual Artists as opposed to Business' can afford remains an ever present issue. and if frankly I could stomach the UX/UI I would've moved as well. I get why so many are moving to Blender., because in terms of features it's either on-par and in some aspect better. It means overall I'd be paying an extra 30% for something much more restrictive in what I can use it for. the Maya Indie Subscription is slightly more expensive than the Maya LT Subscription., which when you also factor in anyone who has subscribed for 2years+ is receiving a Loyalty Discount that would not carry over switching. The problem is that the Terms and Conditions on what you can use it for is far too restrictive. so now Maya 2023 has released., does that mean we'll be seeing a Maya LT 2023?Īs it stands it just looks like Maya Indie has replaced Maya LT., which on the surface seems like a good thing because functionally Maya Indie is just Maya.
